Located in the Thar Desert, Jodhpur
is the home of Rathores, founded in 1459 A.D. by Rao Jodhaji and
today one of largest city of Rajasthan. It is also popular for the
Meherangarh fort, one of the biggest forts in India and the
spectacular Umaid Bhawan Palace.
It was
built
as palace and have been now converted into a luxury hotel and a museum,
while one extensive wing is still occupied by the royal family. The
palace was built by Maharaja Umaid Singh and designed by the president
of the British Royal Institute of Architects. Surrender yourself and
your family entirely to the fantasies of fairy tale royal existence as
you drive past the immaculate lawns, enter an imposing lobby & are
ushered discretely up sweeping marble staircase.
